The Times Record went with a new format this year. An 11-day run featuring a different classification or school each day. I present to you the Oklahoma Sooners cover for several reasons. One, I'm a OU fan and anyone who isn't sucks. Two, #14 Sam Bradford, who is the feature, will be the proud new owner of one of those Heisman Trophies.

Anyways, on to the design features. The font selection is a sporty, futuristic, and a very powerful font. It demands your attention. The colors are all consistent with the sport (green grass or turf, brown pigskin). That oh-so-common reflective gradient just sparkles on screen but failed miserably on newsprint. I was very disappointed.

In the background, I have a "character shot" of a football. Close-up, but faded away into the distance. I also feature a bright head-on shot of a football. But, above all this, I have one feature cut-out of a player set next to two polaroids of two separate shots pertaining to that days feature.

I've already been told that this will be submitted for the APA awards this year. Aside from the compliments these have received, I personally love these covers.
