Safari Outing + Memorial Day
Yesterday, my family and a family from church went to Broken Arrow's safari. It was just 5 miles down the street and I never knew about it! I gotta say I was very impressed. They had about 7 tigers, 3 lions, a liger (ya, really), some cougars, a pair of bears, birds, snakes, kangaroos, bobcats, servals, even a dang camel! The kids really enjoyed seeing all of the animals.
Afterward was the real treat. We went to JL's Barbecue in Pryor, OK to indulge in one of my favorite foods of all time and to experience one of my favorite restaurants of all time since they recently reopened. Holy crap, it was so good!
Today, we went by Floral Haven cemetery. They are doing a reenactment of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the changing of the guards. I've been to DC and have seen the real deal. These guys here in town did a very good job and did justice to the real event.
Seeing as how tomorrow is Memorial Day, I think it's appropriate to take the time to tell all of the veterans how much we appreciate them. Without you guys, there would't be a tomorrow for us. Thank you for your service and sacrifices.
